Waterford Green Party Hosts Greens Music Festival, Launches New Branding
Waterford, CT- The Waterford Green Party held their inaugural Greens Music Festival on Saturday, August 5th. The event was held in the evening at the Cohanzie Firehouse, and was attended by dozens of members of the Waterford community and beyond. The festival featured nine different performances from local musicians and groups, including Baird Welch-Collins, who is currently a candidate for Waterford’s Representative Town Meeting in District 2. The festival helped bring people together to support the arts, each other, and the Green movement, and the organizers are very excited to see the many ways in which the event can be expanded next year.
The event helped to raise hundreds for Green Party campaigns in Waterford, and it also doubled as a launch event for the Waterford Green Party’s branding effort. The new brand has been totally incorporated into their website, and literature used in the 2017 campaign will also have a sleek look to match the new logo. The Party hopes that this overhaul will help to increase visibility around town and that recent changes to the website will help Waterford residents to better navigate it and find information about candidates, voter registration, absentee ballots, and more.
The Waterford Green Party is helping to produce the Bright Theatre Festival at East Lyme High School on August 11-12, which will aim to raise money to promote mental health and suicide prevention. Their next regular meeting will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, August 26, and all Waterford residents are welcome to attend. Other campaign events are being planned and will be announced over the next few months on their website, waterfordgreenparty.org.
