Project Bright is pround to annouce the launch of the first-ever Bright Theatre Festival! The festival will span 24 hours, which will conclude with the performance of several one-act plays at East Lyme High School at 7:00pm on Saturday, August 12, 2017.

The theatre festival will feature artists from all over Southeastern CT, and anyone interested in pariticpating is encouraged to email us at [email protected] with a statement of whether you would prefer to write, direct, or act in a scene. The festival will start on Friday evening with writers working from 7:00pm through the night to draft a 10-20 page one-act play. Directors will meet with writers at 7:00am on Saturday morning to discuss the scripts, and then actors will will join the directors at 8:00am and work throughout the rest of the day to practice, rehearse, and memorize the plays. The festival requires a lot of support, and we hope that you will consider being a part of it! Anyone who will not be in the area on the day of the event is welcome to write from afar, so long as there are still writing roles available!

We are also pleased to say that all proceeds from our ticket sales will go to support Project Bright, which works to bring conversations about suicide prevention and mental wellness to the forefront of our community's dialogue. Please get involved, invite others, and attend our show to support this wonderful cause!
